FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Are you licensed?

Yes. CJ Homes Pty Ltd holds a QBCC Act Licence and operates to QBCC compliance standards. Our licence number is 1062071.

How long have you been building homes?

We've been building quality project homes and custom design homes for Queensland families since 2004. Our Central Queensland team in Rockhampton and Yeppoon has been building since 2014.

How are you different from other builders?

We work on a Fixed Price contract with no provisional sums, so you know exactly what you'll pay. As a family owned and managed builder, we provide quality standard inclusions and a full Turn Key solution on every home.

What kind of homes do you build?

Single storey, double storey, split level and acreage styles, plus custom designs, multi-generational and dual living homes, Hamptons-inspired facades and knockdown rebuilds.

What's your building process?

Five clear steps: finalised contracts, finance approval and house plan, colour consultation, council and estate approvals, then construction. No hidden costs and no surprises.

What's included in your package?

Our Fixed Price contracts list all inclusions from our extensive standard builders range, including quality fittings, appliances and finishes, with upgrades available to suit your taste.

How long will it take to build my new home?

Every build is different. Your New Home Specialist will give you a clear timeframe at your fixed price consultation, based on your plan, site and inclusions.

Where do you build?

Across Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, Moreton region, Logan, Springfield, Ipswich, Redlands, Gold Coast and Gatton, plus Rockhampton and Yeppoon in Central Queensland.

Where can I see your designs?

Browse our house designs online, visit our display homes at Upper Kedron, Spring Mountain and Jimboomba, or call in to our offices at Capalaba or Rockhampton.

Can you use my own concepts?

Yes. For a small refundable design fee, our experienced Building Designers can design your home from scratch - an affordable alternative to engaging an architect.

Do you offer Full Turn Key packages?

Yes. Our Turn Key solution delivers a ready-to-move-in home with nothing for you to do.

What does achieving a 7-star rating entail?

Under the National Construction Code effective from 1 May 2024, new Queensland homes must meet a 7-star energy performance rating and a Whole of Home energy assessment.

How will these changes impact the design and construction of new homes?

Energy efficiency and compliance are designed into the home from the start, so your home is planned and built to meet the updated 7-star and Whole of Home standards.

How can I ensure my new home meets the updated energy efficiency standards?

CJ Homes conducts site-specific Energy Reports for each new home, detailing its energy performance and compliance with the 7-star rating and Whole of Home energy assessment. The Energy Report takes place once plans are finalised to your satisfaction.

What costs are associated with obtaining a Fixed Price Contract?

Your fixed price contract lists all your inclusions up front, with no provisional sums. Your New Home Specialist will walk you through exactly what's included in your price.
